Planning time

Sunday, July 11th, 2010

Summertime is an excellent time for planning. We tend to be a little more relaxed even if we aren’t on vacation. I think it has to do with the extra sunshine, at least for those of us in the Pacific Northwest. Set aside some time to go over your home, business, and personal life. Where do you want to make changes? Now is the time to decide what they are and make plans for how you want to make the changes.

July issue is printed

Wednesday, June 23rd, 2010

The July issue is printed and beginning distribution now. When I pick up the papers each month I always feel like a new parent. Imagine having 12 new babies every year! Whew….can’t imagine how it feels at a daily publication.

Publishing a newspaper is such a different way to live. Life revolves around various deadlines and the month builds to a crescendo - sort of like when waves hit the shore. It’s nice in a way because there is this energy that propels you forward all month, hits shore, and then briefly relaxes before building the next head of steam that begins to propel you forward again.

The wave hit the shore and now I get to relax a bit by leaving on a much-needed vacation to Santa Fe, New Mexico. I have never been there but feel strangely pulled to visit and I always follow such pulls and intuitions. Magic is definitely afoot. I will post some photos when I return.

Ho’oponopono

Wednesday, June 16th, 2010

Yes, it is a big word and I have only heard it said aloud once. Don’t ask me to say it. But here is a way to use it in relation to the oil spill in the Gulf. The idea is based on us all being one and that whatever we see in the outer world is a projection of some sort from ourselves.

So, we are all responsible for this spill. Hard to accept maybe. But why not try this process.

Say to the Gulf of Mexico: “I am sorry. Please forgive me. I love you. Thank you.”

People have used this successfully for many things. If enough of us do it for the Gulf it just might help.

Here’s a link to an interesting article about the water:

Where’s your focus?

Thursday, June 10th, 2010

Right now it is very easy to let ourselves get discouraged and scared. The situation with the oil gushing in the Gulf has made many of us heartsick. It is difficult to see the devastation that is happening. Be that as it may, though, we need to focus on seeing this healed, seeing the wildlife and the ocean clean once again. Our thoughts and visions are very powerful. Let’s use this to our advantage and help the situation rather than hurt it even more.

Love

Friday, May 28th, 2010

“You do not have to search outside yourself for love. You can begin releasing it from within outward, through your thoughts, words, actions, and affirmative prayers.” Catherine Ponder

Once we can truly understand this we are free - free from trying to please others, free from negativity, free from self-condemnation.

What a delightful place to be!

How do you handle disappointment?

Tuesday, May 25th, 2010

It is never easy to have someone let you down or for situations to work out differently than you had planned. This happens to all of us. What’s important is how we handle the situation, not that it happened in the first place.

I have had this happen to me enough times now to know that things always work out the way they should from a higher perspective. When I am in the midst of something, this is not always easy to remember. But when I remind myself to be detached from the outcome of anything in my life - including my life itself - situations have a way of untangling themselves and flowing in a way I could not have foreseen.

Relax. Detach. Stay aligned with your True Self. Watch how life unfolds. You will be pleasantly surprised.

Audio interviews

Saturday, May 22nd, 2010

We just posted some new audio interviews at the New Spirit Journal website. Today I was thinking about the conversations I had with these seven people and realized how grateful I am to be doing the work  I am doing. Each of them said something I was able to take to heart and use in my own life.

I consider myself very fortunate to be called to do this work. I do it as service to others and in return I receive so much.

Love BP

Friday, May 21st, 2010

I know, that sounds strange. What BP has done to the ocean and wildlife is terrible and I hope their actions wake up a lot of people. But, we need to send them love, especially the people who are charged with figuring out how to fix the problem. If we send them condemnation, that energy will only delay their finding the solution to stopping the oil that is continuing to gush into the waters of the world.

Love really is the answer. Love the water. Love the fish and wildlife. Love the employees of BP who need to find a fix. Love the executives of BP who are so out of touch with the planet that they allowed this to happen.

Love does not equal condone.

Busy weekend

Monday, May 17th, 2010

This past weekend was our ad deadline weekend and was very busy. But it was a good busy - not the kind where when you’re done you say, “What was that all about?” For me, being involved in getting spiritual information out into the world is the highest and best use of my time.

Yes, sometimes it is a lot of hard work and sometimes I wonder if anyone is “out there.” But, from the feedback I get there are a lot of people “out there” who love New Spirit Journal and who love having the newspaper as part of their journey. I am happy to be part of their process.

Never, ever give up!

Thursday, May 13th, 2010

Whatever your dream, whatever your goal, never, ever give up. Many people stop just before they are ready for a breakthrough. Don’t let that be you!

Set your course. Focus on your end result. Surrender the results, have fun. And don’t give up.

Blessings,
